International new releases of the month #10: September Selection

Nuova puntata di questa rubrica, per occuparci delle più importanti uscite letterarie internazionali del mese di Settembre. Occhi puntati sul sequel di Shining targato Stephen King - valutato 4/5 stelline su Goodreads - che vedrà come protagonista Dan Torrance, ormai divenuto un uomo di mezza età, alle prese con una particolare ragazzina di dodici anni che dovrà salvare da una tribù di assassini paranormali. Nuovo romanzo illustrato per Neil Gaiman, autore di Stardust, che ha come motore dell’azione uno dei più comuni topos della letteratura: una persona che “sparisce” andando a comprare qualcosa, in questo caso un cartone del latte. Passiamo poi ad un regency romance valutato ben 4.43/5 stelline su Goodreads firmato dalla penna di Julianne Donaldson, Blackmoore, che sta riscuotendo un enorme successo da parte dei lettori e della critica – inoltre definito, nella quarta di copertina, come «un delizioso intreccio tra Cime tempestose e Piccole donne da leggere assolutamente». Chiude questo appuntamento il romanzo dell’esordiente Hannah Kent, basato sulla vera storia di una donna accusata di omicidio nell’Islanda del 1829. Alla prossima!
