International new releases #14: Fall preview

L'estate non è ancora giunta al termine, ma il mondo dell'editoria si sta preparando a distribuire nuovi volumi che segneranno l'arrivo dell'autunno nel Regno Unito e negli Stati Uniti. Non possiamo che citare come prima uscita - e ben prima dell'equinozio di settembre - un nuovo atteso inedito volume del pioniere del genere fantasy JRR Tolkien, che non mancherà di soddisfare i suoi fan. Secondo le notizie riportata dalla Tolkien Society, The Story of Kullervo è stato scritto da Tolkien nel 1914 ed è la sua rielaborazione e rivisitazione della saga finlandese di Kalevala. La storia è importante nello sviluppo del mondo leggendario di Tolkien, poiché fornisce le prime informazioni sulla storia di Túrin Turambar, eroe tragico del Silmarillion e The Children of Hurin.

Novembre arriverà con un nuovo romanzo di Isabel Allende. Summer has not come to an end yet but the publishing world is getting ready to release new books that will leave a mark on the UK and US Fall. First of all - and well ahead of the September equinox- , a new book by the master of fantasy JRR Tolkien will please his fans. According to The Tolkien Society reports, The Story of Kullervo was written by Tolkien in 1914 and was his own reworking and re-imagining of the Finnish Kalevala saga. The story is significant in the development of Tolkien's legendarium as it provided the basis for Túrin Turambar, a tragic hero of The Silmarillion and The Children of Hurin.

In October it will be the time of a short story by the Gone Girl’s author, which appeared originally as What Do You Do? in George R. R. Martin's Rogues anthology. Gillian Flynn's The Grownup is the story of a woman who does not believe in paranormal phenomena but tries to enrich herself by pretending to be able to drive away the spirits from a neighbor house. After a series of inexplicable facts, she begins to think that spirits really exist.

November comes with a new novel by New York Times Bestselling Author Isabel Allende. The Japanese Lover is a lovestory that sweeps through time, generations and continents exploring questions of identity, abandonment and redemption as a moving tribute to the constancy of the human heart in a world of unceasing change.

Last but not least, the book that was inspired by William Blake’s poems illustrations.
